Ways to Get Involved

There are a variety of ways to get involved in the work we are doing with the Central American children — or any of the services we provide to children, families, seniors and caregivers. Please consider how you can serve with us.

Pray

Please pray for the humanitarian crisis at play that has brought these children to the border. Pray for the border patrol officers who face difficult conditions day-in and day-out. Pray for our government officials who are charged with addressing immigration policy. Pray for the children and families who have endured much to get to the border. Pray for our staff who will be serving the children. And pray, especially, that throughout this entire process, the love of Christ will be evident and that hope will flow through us to those in need.

Volunteer

Consider volunteering your time. Maybe you're a carpenter, teacher or play a musical instrument. Maybe you speak and read Spanish. Or maybe you're an excellent cook or baker. Whatever your skill, let us know if you're interested in sharing your special talents with us. Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Work with Us

Wellspring is currently seeking 40 bilingual (English-Spanish) staff members to serve in a variety of positions in Farmington Hills and Bay City. Those who fill these positions will be responsible for developing positive relationships with youth that encourage achievement of treatment goals. Both full- and part-time positions are available. Donate

Sharing your support. Although the federal contracts for caring for these children are considered "self-contained" budgets — meaning all services the children may require are paid for through the contract, many people have asked how they can give their support. Here are three ways you can give to Wellspring Lutheran Services:

Financial Gifts - If you'd like to provide financial support, please click the "Give Online" link in the upper right hand corner of your screen or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Services - If you'd like to donate services to help, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Goods - If you'd like to donate goods for use by boys (age 6-17) or girls (age 6-13), email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to see if it's something we can accept — or take a look at this list of some of the items we are accepting:

  • New clothing
  • New twin-size bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets)
  • Personal hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrushes/combs, hair ties, lotion, etc.)
  • Refurbished computers/monitors
  • School and craft supplies
